Dr. H.A. McCallum (1913-1919)
Born in 1860, Dr. H. A. McCallum taught in a rural school for two years until entering Western Medical School in 1883. Graduating with a gold medal in 1886, Dr. McCallum started a practice in London and taught botany and zoology at the Faculty.
Holding Chairs in Physiology, the Principles of Medicine, and Clinical Medicine, Dr. McCallum taught for six years before becoming the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in 1913. Accepting an LL.D. honorary degree from Western in 1916, Dr. McCallum continued as Dean until 1919.
Dr. McCallum died in January 1921.
