Dr. A. Bruce Macallum
Dr. A. Bruce Macallum was born in Cornwall, Ontario in 1885. Graduating with his M.D. from the University of Toronto in 1909, Dr. Macallum accepted a teaching fellowship in biochemistry at Harvard University until 1912. Completing additional studies in Munich and London, Dr. Macallum completed his Ph.D. in biochemistry at the University of Toronto in 1919 and became an instructor there.
Appointed Professor of Biochemistry at Western University in 1924 and Dean in 1927, Dr. Macallum continued his teaching position until 1954 when he retired.
