Dr. Douglas Bocking (1965-1978)
Graduating from The University of Western Ontario in 1943 with a degree in medicine, Dr. Douglas Bocking accepted a three year position at Montreal General Hospital as an intern and eventually resident in medicine. He practised medicine for three years in Hawkesbury, Ontario and also completed training in rheumatic disease for two years in America.
Dr. Bocking opened a consulting practice in internal medicine and rheumatic disease in London, Ontario in 1952 and also accepted a position as a professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Western. Dr. Bocking was promoted to Dean of the Faculty in 1965 where he was best known for his professional and patient manner.
