Dr. A.G. Fenwick (1890-1892*)

Dr. A.G. Fenwick

Dr. Alexander Greig Fenwick was born in England in 1818. His family settled in Quebec in 1824. He graduated from McGill University in 1840 with a degree in medicine and served as an assistant surgeon for five years.

Dr. Fenwick practiced in Quebec, in the towns of St. Andrew's and Three Rivers, and was a Governor of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Quebec. Dr. Fenwick met Bishop Isaac Hellmuth and was convinced to accept the position of Medical Officer at Hellmuth Boys' College in 1874.

Dr. Fenwick accepted the position of Chair of Medical Jurisprudence and Toxicology in 1883 and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in 1890. Dr. Fenwick's position as Dean was short due to poor health. He died in 1894.
