About the Exhibit

The History of Medicine virtual exhibit is intended to provide an overview of the archival collection housed at Western Archives. By examining the correspondence, certificates, and pictures, we are able to gain significant insight into the life and times of medical students and doctors at The University of Western Ontario in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The impact of Western's medical graduates and professors on the global medical scene becomes apparent, and it is obvious why Western's Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry continues to be one of the best and most prominent medical schools in Canada.
