Description
This project focuses on the portrayal of Carlos Pardo’s migration and experience in different countries. Carlos was born in Bogotá, Colombia but currently lives in London, Ontario. His first international move was to Belgium 1988 where he received his Master’s Degree in Developing Countries. He moved back to Bogotá, Colombia after living abroad for two years. In 2007, he decided to move to London, Canada with this wife, Sonia. This was due to the undeclared civil war taking place in Colombia at the time. His goal is to address the several challenges that immigrants face as well as what might be some driving forces for migration. Challenges included are language barrier, social environment and culture shock. Moreover, driving forces mentioned are political situation in home country as well as better career opportunities abroad.
