Post-War Osler

A couple years after the Second World War ended and life seemed to get back to normal, the University of Western Ontario’s Hippocratic Council decided that there was a need for the reinstatement of the activities of the Osler Society. The Council appointed a committee of four students to re-start the Osler Society, with changes to the Constitution. The Constitution was amended to open membership to all interested students and members of the medical faculty. The society also officially changed the name of their group to now include “of the University of Western Ontario”. It was decided that meetings will be held up to four times a year now, with regular meetings of the Osler Society officially resuming on November 3, 1948. The Osler Society begins to meet frequently at Gamma House, a fraternity house that often lent itself to clubs that held “meetings with a historical theme”.
