About the Barnett Shakespeare Project

John Davis Barnett

Western Libraries’ Barnett Shakespeare Project, started in March 2020, comprises the creation of a comprehensive bibliography of Shakespeare and Shakespeare related volumes donated to the library by John Davis Barnett in 1918, as part of a larger donation that formed the foundation of the Library’s collection in the 20th century.

The project was led by PhD Candidate Blake Robertson, from Western’s Department of English Studies, and supervised by Professor Scott Schofield, from Huron College’s Department of English and Cultural Studies, and Deb Meert-Williston, Special Collections Librarian in the Archives and Special Collections, Western Libraries.

The data collected from the project is being securely archived and shared openly in multiple formats. Data support is being provided by Kristi Thompson, Research Data Management Librarian, Western Libraries.
