The Japanese restaurants in western countries are generally not traditional enough, especially in small towns, such as London. Because most of these restaurants are opened by Chinese or Korean instead of Japanese. If the chefs did not learn how to cook Japanese food really well, the food in these restaurants might still be good. However, they are not traditional Japanese dishes. Some chefs will also westernize Japanese food in their restaurants for catering western people. Akira feels shame that the people in London cannot taste real Japanese food. Thus, we decide to shoot a video for teaching the audience how to cook real Japanese dishes. Moreover, these foods are easy to cook, so everybody can learn it quickly and try to cook themselves. We will also talk about Japanese food culture in our video.
This is a hand written, two volume set, that is likely a scholar's notes on his readings, lectures, and other thoughts and information on the area of Jewish Antiquities. It has been written in code, which appears to be a combination of Pitman short hand, Greek, Latin, Hebrew, and English.
This video is a portrait of Jorge Herrera, who immigrated to Canada from El Salvador as a political refugee in the 1980s. Stemming from an early interest in radio and communications, Jorge became involved with the campus radio station at Western University, London, in the early 2000s. He is the host of the weekly Spanish-language radio show “La Voz Hispana.” He uses this platform to connect with London’s Hispanic community and to share its culture. He is a strong advocate for connecting youth with cultural opportunities. Jorge demonstrates the value of local cultural radio.
Loay’s immigration story is a unique one in that he came from another multicultural region in Dubai, U.A.E. Once an 8-year-old boy when he immigrated, he is now a 20 year old student in the field of computer engineering. He explains that integration in Canada was also made easier by his parents as he was enrolled in Islamic elementary and secondary schools. However, he emphasizes how his life and experiences have changed since leaving the Islamic school system and attending Western University and Fanshawe College now.
