Barnett Shakespeare Project 2.0

Western Libraries’ Barnett Shakespeare Project, started in March 2020, comprises the creation of a comprehensive bibliography of Shakespeare and Shakespeare related volumes donated to the library by John Davis Barnett in 1918, as part of a larger donation that formed the foundation of the Library’s collection in the 20th century.

Canadian Photographically Illustrated Books

Photographically Illustrated books are books in which photographs have been pasted or tipped-in to the pages of the book in place of traditional illustration. Most of the surviving book-copies contain surprising variants.

History of Medicine

The History of Medicine Collection virtual exhibit is intended to provide an overview of the archival collection housed at Western Archives. By examining the correspondence, certificates, and pictures, we are able to gain significant insight into the life and times of medical students and doctors at The University of Western Ontario in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The impact of Western's medical graduates and professors on the global medical scene becomes apparent, and it is obvious why Western's Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry continues to be one of the best and most prominent medical schools in Canada.
